Winter 2015 Instructional Technology Workshops

CEHD Technology Services is offering several instructional technology related workshops that are designed to help faculty with both instruction and research. The workshop descriptions and registration information are below.

Using STATA for Data Analysis and Management - STATA is an integrated statistical software package with tools for data analysis, data management, and graphics. This presentation will discuss the functions and features of STATA, transitioning to STATA from other statistical packages, and licensing. Presenter - Dr. Bob Hall

Using Qualtrics to Improve the Online Experience - This presentation will discuss the different types of questions and how to use that data to improve the online teaching and learning experience. Topics discussed include getting to know your students, building a community of learners and using data to inform your teaching. Presenters - Drs. Nicola Ritter and René Quiroz

Features and Functions of CEHD Active Learning Classrooms - This interactive workshop will demonstrate the features and functions that are incorporated into CEHD's active learning spaces. Items to be demonstrated include student collaboration tables, wireless presentation and collaboration tools, and 80 inch Interactive Presentation Displays. Presenter - Ben Smith

Instructional Video: Lecture Capture to Live Streams - This presentation will discuss tools, services and resources related to instructional video that are available to CEHD faculty, staff, and students. Discussion items will include Mediasite, Camtasia Relay, video production resources and closed captioning services. Presenter - Ben Smith

Wireless Interactive Presentations Systems: Any Device, All Screens, On Demand, No Wires - This interactive workshop will demonstrate the capabilities of the wireless interactive presentation systems that are being deployed in many CEHD instructional environments. Functions that will be demonstrated include presenter functions, collaboration functions, mobile device functions, and administrative functions. Presenter - Ben Smith

Accessibility and Universal Design in Face-to-Face Instruction - This presentation will focus on accessibility and universal design as they relate to face-to-face instructional environments. Discussion topics include audio enhancement, visual enhancement, space and layout, and lecture capture. Presenter - Ben Smith
